Bitxen is an open-source digital inheritance protocol. We prioritize privacy by design. This policy explains how our decentralized architecture ensures your data remains under your control.
Bitxen is a client-side application. We do not operate a centralized server that stores your personal data, keys, or vault contents. When you use the Bitxen interface:
Your session data and temporary keys may be stored in your browser's local storage or memory while you use the application. This data is strictly local and is never transmitted to us.
When you interact with the blockchain (to store your encrypted vault), you are interacting directly with the public ledger. Transaction metadata (such as your wallet address and transaction timestamp) is public by nature of the blockchain. Bitxen cannot control or hide this public data.
If you choose to use third-party RPC providers or IPFS gateways, their privacy policies will apply to your network traffic. By default, Bitxen aims to be neutral, but users should be aware of the infrastructure they connect to.
Since Bitxen is open-source software, updates to the code are public. We may update this policy to reflect changes in the protocol. We encourage you to review the repository changes on GitHub.
If you have questions about the protocol's privacy features, please open an issue on our GitHub repository.
